THE 9 “IN CHRIST” POSITIONS — WITH ALIGNMENT QUESTIONS

 “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.”📖 2 Corinthians 13:5

1. Created in Christ

📖 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Position Truth: We are new creations, not improved versions of the old self.

Engagement Questions

• Am I living from my new identity or rehearsing my old one?

• What habits or mindsets suggest I’m still tied to my former life?

• Where is God calling me to fully embrace newness?

2. Rooted in Christ

📖 Colossians 2:7

“Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

John 15:4–5 (NLT)

Position Truth: Fruit comes from abiding, not striving.

Engagement Questions

• Am I growing spiritually in intimacy with God or increasing in activities?

• What is fueling my growth?

• What currently sustains my spiritual life: intimacy or activity?

3. Blessed in Christ with an Inheritance 

📖 Ephesians 1:3, 11 (NKJV)

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

Position Truth: We are already spiritually blessed — not waiting to qualify.

Engagement Questions

• Do my prayers reflect confidence or insecurity?

• Have I been walking in certainty in faith about the things God has promised or remaining fearfully hesitant to believe?

4. Saved / Free from Condemnation in Christ

📖 Romans 8:1 (NKJV

“There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Position Truth: We are forgiven, accepted, and secure.

Engagement Questions

• Do guilt or shame still influence my walk with God?

• How quickly do I return to God after failure?

• Do I truly believe I am forgiven?

5. Crucified in Christ

📖 Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Position Truth: The old self no longer has authority.

Engagement Questions

• What parts of my old self am I still protecting?

• Do I find myself trying to gain strength over my old ways through self-rule instead of surrendering to Christ-rule?

• Am I starting to second guess my freedom and deliverance from the old me?

6. Complete in Christ

📖 Colossians 2:9–10 NKJV

“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him,who is the head of all [b]principality and power.

Position Truth: I Nothing is missing in Christ.

Engagement Questions

• Am I finding myself seeking fulfillment outside of Christ?

• What fears suggest I believe I lack something?

• How would my decisions change if I trusted I am complete?

7. Dead to Sin but Alive in Christ

📖 Romans 6:11 (NKJV)

Likewise you also, [a]reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Position Truth: Sin has lost its authority, though it still seeks influence, I am Alive in Christ.

Engagement Questions

• Do you feel joyless because of a past or present mistake?

• Do I see myself as a victim or victor over sin?

8. Seated in Heavenly Places

📖 Ephesians 2:6 (NKJV)

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Position Truth: Our position is above.

Engagement Questions

• How is my outlook or perspective about the situation?

• Am I looking at the natural level or above heavenly place level?

• Do I need to adjust my outlook?

9. Chosen to Be Holy in Christ

📖 Ephesians 1:4 (NLT)

“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.”

Position Truth: You were chosen to walk in the power of Christ to be Holy. You have more authority than you think.

Alignment Questions

• Is there an area of your life that you struggle in the flesh but you have deemed that you will never over come?

• Do you desperately desire a change in your life but just don’t see you ever changing?

Exodus 1:6-22

6 Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, 7 but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them.

8 Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. 9 “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.”

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.
