Discover Who
We Are

At East Mount Zion Baptist Church, we are a community of intergenerational kingdom builders passionate about Jesus and sharing His love with the world. Our congregation is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by our faith and commitment to living out the Gospel.

We are outward-focused, socially conscious, and driven by the mission of Christ.

Why We Exist

We Exist to build the Kingdom of God through Sharing the Love of Christ to every person and helping every generation grow in faith.

We exist to build the Kingdom of God by sharing the love of Christ with every person and helping every generation grow in faith. Through worship, discipleship, and service, we seek to cultivate a church that nurtures spiritual growth, strengthens families, and impacts communities for Christ. We believe we are called to reach the lost of Christ, disciple believers into leading Christ-like lives, and connecting people to their God given Kingdom purpose

We exist to build God’s Kingdom by sharing Christ’s love and helping every generation grow in faith. Through worship, discipleship, and service, we seek to nurture spiritual growth, strengthen families, and impact communities. We’re called to reach the lost, disciple believers, and connect people to their God-given purpose.

God has called us to:

Reach – Radically reach people for the Kingdom of God.
Disciple – Equip every generation to understand their God-given purpose and spiritual gifts.
Connect – Help people find and fulfill their God-given Kingdom assignment.

  • Discipleship – We believe the ultimate goal of every believer is to grow as a disciple of Christ in the world.
  • Prayer – We believe prayer is the priority for Kingdom impact. Everything begins and ends with prayer, just as Jesus taught His disciples.
  • Worship – We believe worship is core to a true experience with God.
  • Community – We believe God has not placed us here to do Kingdom work alone.
  • Generosity – We believe the Kingdom calls us to give generously in all ways to all people.
  • Service – We believe that we are the hands and feet of Jesus—it’s Matthew 25 for us.

What To Expect

Being a first-time visitor at any church can often be quite confusing, and sometimes even a little uncomfortable. We understand that, so we put considerable time and thought into making your experience as pleasant and relaxed as possible. Here are some of the benefits of visiting our church:

Friendly and welcoming atmosphere:

When you pull into the parking lot, right off the bat you’re greeted with waves and warm smiles by our 1st Touch Committee team that directs traffic in all kinds of weather so you never have to hunt for a parking space, even when the place is packed. Then, you walk through the main entrance, and two or more cheerful greeters are waiting with open arms to hug you.

The sanctuary doors swing open 15 minutes before service, and that’s our cue that it’s time to worship. In two words, we praise. Expect energy, expect passion, and expect Holy Spirit to move. The same goes for the message. Be prepared for a Spirit-filled and Spirit-lead worship experience!

From there, you’re directed to our Atrium & Banquet Hall, where you can enjoy fellowship! And sometimes even some coffee, tea, and great music on some occasions!

Exodus 1:6-22

Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them.

Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt. “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, “Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?”

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, “Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive.”

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

22 Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.
